@gadolf what website? Out of the box pfsense doesn't block anything. Are you using IPS, pfblocker? What website so can others can see exactly what they are using, and help figure out what could be going on.

@johnpoz Thanks for the quick reply.

No, I'm not using any IPS or pfblocker.

        The site is https://siccau.caubr.gov.br

EDIT: Changed the url, it was wrong, now it's fixed

            After I try to login.

            Please, do the following:
            Enter 88454630791 and any password.

Even with an invalid password it shows the Invalid reCaptcha error. (Probably you'll get an invalid username/password error, which means the recaptcha worked)

This is my attempt with an invalid password. I didn't passed through the recaptcha so it didn't reach the credentials validation step

yeah not seeing that - it flashes for a second, something pops up in the middle like a typical spinner.

@johnpoz Maybe you fell into other filters like country... The point is: how do I troubleshoot this?

Well .... isn't this one of those edge cases where a VPN actually come in handy ? 😊 **
Get yourself a IP in the country where 'everything is permitted' (US) so the web site sees that you visit from the sates, like John, and suddenly no more issues.

You can't troubleshoot a server side issue.
They can uses lists with country based IPs, and present you, according the IP you use (= somewhat equivalent with the country you are visiting from) with another login method. Like an F2A, or not, captcha or not etc.

** the thing is : VPN IPs are also known = listed, so if you visit a site using an IP from a VPN, the web server could know that the visitor doesn't want to be 'known' by its source IP. It can react accordingly.
An example is : Netflix : use a VPN and they will refuse everything ... the want you too use an ISP known ISP (again : a list !) IP !

@Gertjan No,no, I was referring to your case, where you certainly aren't in Brazil.

I'm in Brazil, as well as the webserver.

So, my main point is, how to troubleshoot this issue (invalid recaptcha), since this only occurs with a pfsense router, like I mentioned in the first post. If I switch to an openwrt router, for example, everything goes well.

                      @gadolf

                      First, take these down :

The pfSense is set up in Multi-WAN failover mode, and I have limiters enabled for each link.

use just one WAN, no limiters, just the basic 'out of the box' experience.

Also, was IPv6 working before on your OpenWRT ? and it doesn't now with pfSense.
Or the other way around ?

Other test methods : get a 'real' browser, and activate the web dev tools. That will show you what request are ok, which failed etc.

                        I also so

That's expected, and means that recaptcha worked for you and you didn't provided the right password.

                        Did it already, no success.

Hummm... maybe, in openwrt. Definitely not enabled in pfsense. I´'ll try that.

Fyi, I had previously opened a ticket with the website administrators but have had no reply... until today, after I started this chat.

So... they just told me that they're already aware of the issue and it probably has to do with the recaptcha quotas. This website is used by many people so, they probably will have to upgrade the plan.

I'm sorry to have taken your time on this, and thank you for that.
