Help a noob with pfBlockerNG…not allowing certain websites I want to access
-
I've been messing around with pfBlockerNG for a couple weeks now and have had some success in applying rules, etc. However, there are a couple websites I can not access unless I disable pfBlockerNG (one lately www.raspberrypi.org specifically).
I've tried adding it to the whitelist and also added it to Firewall/Aliases/IP with no success. I'm fairly certain there's something I'm not doing correctly. Appreciate anyone pointing me in the right direction.

You have to look at pfblockerng.log to see if you can build the table without errors.
Then you inspect the alert tabs as well as the firewall logs to find out what is blocked.
You can also look at the original files, the deny files, dnsbl files etc. -
Thanks. It ended up being the "pfB_Top_v6 auto rule" on my LAN1. I disabled it and now can access the website. Now, to figure out what the rule did and what I did by disabling it. :o

The web site, raspberrypi.org, appears to reside in the country of Great Britain per Whois.com. Are you blocking the country, Great Britain? If so, unblock it in the block list, if pfB_Top_v6 list includes this country.

United Kingdom is listed in Top 20 and Europe and I have them both unblocked. :(
