Input output errors with atheros nic

I have an Atheros NIC , 5xxx, i don't remember the exact card and i noticed a lot of input output errors, after reading the forums via search i've found some suggestions to try to fix them but i can't seem to find any info on how to reset the counter.
how do i clear the in/out errors?

Reboot. You can clear protocol stats by netstat -z -I ath0 (or whatever interface name you have), but this will not clear input/output errors.
