Wireless routing RC3
-
Hi, here is pic of my problem http://img183.imageshack.us/my.php?image=routein4.jpg comp is on wire with PFS RC3
comp 2 and comp 3 are on wire on D-LINK DWL 2100AP that is in client mode conectet to OPT1 and OPT2
 PFS RC3 has
 LAN – IP 192.168.1.1
 WAN
OPT1 is CANYON WF511 RT-2560 chipset (not 2561 turbo-- that is not working)
 OPT2 is CANYON WF511 RT-2560 chipsetsolution 1.
 bridge OPT1 with LAN
 bridge OPT2 with LAN
comp can ping AP CLIENTS (DWL-2100) but cant ping computers connected to DWL 2100 ap-clientcomputers 2 and 3 connected to DWL 2100 can ping comp but cant ping each other... solution 2.
 OPT1 ip 192.168.2.1 (tried with 192.168.1.1, 192.168.1.2, 192.168.1.3, nothing) subnet is 255.255.0.0
 OPT2 ip 192.168.3.1 (same as OPT1)and i have
disable NAT; enable advanced outbound nat, delete the rules
 - create pass any protocol, any source, any destination rules at all involved interfaces at both pfSense. also uncheck block private IP ranges at interfaces>wan.
 - set up static routes form LAN to OPTand stil nothing... please help

first rc3 is not suported upgrade to 1.0 release then if you have on opt1 192.168.2.1 255.255.0.0 and on opt2
 192.168.3.1 255.255.0.0
then routing is broken becourse 192.168.2.0 255.255.0.0 is 192.168.0.1 till 192.168.254.254
make it 255.255.255.0 on opt1 and opt2 and routing works again
-
first, this is clean instal to RC3 not upgrade from RC1 RC3 comp is
 CPU celeron 1700mhz
 256mb ddr
 hdd 10gb
 asus mainboar 6x PCI slots
 LAN onboard
wan2. i have allready tried with subnet 255.255.255.0 with solution 1 and 2 - NOTHING
it seems that something is f*cked up in PFS or in ralink drivers
i will buy atheros based chipset card and see whats happening

RC3 is old, joeren is talking about the final releaseversion of pfSense (1.0-RELEASE, not 1.0RC1). You really should upgrade/reinstall first with that version.

There are some problems with your setup: Solution1 won't work as you can't bridge multiple interfaces to each other (atm only 1 interface can be bridged to another one) Solution2 seems to have subnetconflicts as you are using a subnetmask of 255.255.0.0. Solution3: set it up with non conflicting subnets and it should work. Btw, you don't need static routes between OPT1 and OPT2 as these subnets are directly connected to the pfSense. Only firewallrules are needed. …joeren told you about that conflict already (just saw it after I wrote my answer) ;)

 LAN ------192.168.1.1
OPT 1 ----192.168.2.1-- no static routes, all default... (but i tried and with static rutes from 192.168.1.0/24 to 192.168.2.0/24 and from 192.168.2.0/24 to 192.168.1.0/24 -- NOT WORKING, tried with NAT -enable advanced outbound, with default, and with OPT1 and LAN --- NOT WORKING)
i tried so many combinations that i dont remember any more :(
oh yes, with ipsec tuneling tooi tried and this hoba
solution 3 -- all default- no static routes etc ...firweall rules on :
 OPT1 : pass-->OPT1-->(TCP/UDP)or any-->OPT1 subnet-->LAN subnet
 LAN: pass-->LAN -->(tcp/udp) or any-->LAN subnet ---> OPT1 subnetNOT WORKING !!!
I think that buying a 3 APs will cost me less nervs and health than this PFS, but, i want to solve this problem :) :) :)lets solve this 8)
 thnx guys
