Problem with Bridging

The wireless device is OPT1 and you bridged it to LAN, right? Also, is the wireless interface in accesspoint mode? a bridge will only work if the device is in accesspoint mode. Also check if your firewallrules are ok (check status>systemlogs, firewall).

Correct, I only need to bridge OPT1 to LAN right? I don't have to bridge LAN to OPT1 as well do I?

They seem OK, there's nothing showing in the status>systemlogs, firewall at all (is that right?)
One thing that doesn't look right though is that on the screen of the pfsense box I keep getting : bridge0: Ethernet Address: xx:xx:xx:xx:xx:xx
where the MAC address is different each time -
Looks like your configuration is valid. You have pass any rules at the lan and opt1 interface? The firewallogs usually should not be empty. What version are you running?

I'm running 1.0.1-SNAPSHOT-11-19-2006
I think a re-install might be in order.

OK, reinstalled 1.01 and before doing anything else attempted to bridge OPT1 with LAN. Both interfaces under status > interfaces > bridge(0) are showing as learning again.
is there anyway to force the bridge?

Learning means the bridge is operational, and is learning the mac addresses attached on both sides.

Sorry, forgot to post back, the reinstalling of 1.01 did the trick, wireless is up and running correctly now

i have 1.0.1 built on Sun Oct 29what im work:
alias opt1 on ath0 (i have wlm54g)
bridge with lan
access pointin wireless device, i see access point, strenght is good
im connecting, for 1 sec or 2sec, when disconnectwhat is wrong?

just do the following-Get your WAN and LAN running. Then go to the OPT1 settings page and set it to be bridged with LAN. Leave the IP configuration for the OPT1 interface to static.

i have fw rule, opt1 any to any -
when i change fw rules, then my wireless client again dont connect to pfsense wifi?!
thats is work around, to work my pfsense as access point (only lan and opt1 as wireless)

i have same problem for 3 months now, but my link is stable and works fine.
(cant ping computers on lan, and wifi clients cant ping aeach other, while lan computers can ping wifi clients)
it seems that problem is in freeBSD bridge driver, something is wrong…i thingk guys will fix that... ;)
