Is there an Atheros polling patch for SLOW cpus?

I heard and experienced that with slower cpus like net4801 and wrap, atheros cards can generate interrupt storms and cause livelocks. A polling patch would help alleviate the hanging problem. Is there one available?

Any NIC will drag down slow boxes under heavy load, ath included. Polling lowers throughput, but prevents the live lock. No patches needed, just check the box on the Advanced page.

I thought the interface has to support polling in order for the interface to be polled. I believe when I enabled polling, I was still seeing high interrupts on wireless

The interface has to support it, but ath does. Watch your interrupt time in top to see.

Okay…I enabled polling and interrupt time does go down. However, this does not solve the system locking up (but not completely dead. Only wan dead). I tried the mnbcluster workaround but it still seems to lock up.
Out of ideas now...
