Captive Portal IE8

IE does not seem to pass the captive portal. I get page cannot be displayed. I have seen this on a couple of PCs. Any ideas?

IE8 isn't some kind of browser you chose. Most people using a PC and Internet on this planet use it and believe me, pfSense is working ok with it (I think 'it' doesn't care at all ;D).
If IE8 wouldn't go through pfSense, this forum would be overloaded with questions about the matter.

IE8 has incompatibilities with a lot of websites, make sure the website you are trying to access is IE8 compatible or try Firefox. either way you should be able to see the cp page. check browser and ip settings

turn on Compatibility view, i had a few problems with a couple of machines until i turned it on the it all burst into life!
