RRD graph wrong totals
-
Seems that the totals on the RRD graph is displaying the right amount. I have downloaded a 700meg file and the total is 192. The bar graph shows 6Mbs for about 30 mins so it is seeing the downloads just not totaling it up correctly.
Is this a known bug of have I broken anything.

Yes i think so but do a search for a more clear answer.

I did have a look through on the forum but I only managed to find the previous fix.

The values are averaged over a period of time. I believe this is normal.
-
There is a fix in CVS for 1.2.1 which isn't released yet.
-
databeestje also mentioned this occurs when you're running the traffic shaper. I'm not, mine add up properly.
-
I did have the traffic shapper running but not anymore. I will wait for 1.2.1 then.

Could someone explain how this averaging works and how it is normal?
I have a problem with data totals as well.
Please see the following graphs.
http://eimatech.net/rrd16hrs.png
http://eimatech.net/rrd2days.pngI know i have downloaded at least 1.8 gig in the last 16 hrs. But the totals show more data being uploaded in the period. Looking at the graph the 1.8 gig can be calculated.
The totals seem to make sense minus the huge download for about an hour.
It seems that the totaling script missed completely the values above 2mbit or something similar.Any ideas?
Historically this interface has never seen this speed (formally was 1.5mbit ADSL)

I have just confirmed that the Incoming total has decreased on the 16 hour graph 15 mins after the graph I have posted.
This is after I applied the patch from the other thread for the rrd graphs. (replaced the rrd_images.php file from cvs) -
The picture clearly says, 1 minute average for the 16 hour graph and 5 minute average for the 2 days graph.
It's exactly what it says, the amount of traffic over 5 minutes, then divided by 5 minutes. Which is not the same as 1 minute averages ofcourse.
