Xfire and Call of Duty 2
-
Im new to PFsense, I have 30 Computers and I am having problems with playing Call of Duty 2 within Xfire. Im suspecting its something to do with the Firewall.
The PFSense firewall wizard is great but does not mention Xfire. What are the correct procedures to add Xfire and to open its port for my computers. Thanks

I don't use Xfire or play COD2 so this is just guess.
http://www.xfire.com/faq/#158 Does not clearly stat that you'll need to portforward port 25999 TCP, but if it's xfire itself you have a problem with you could try it.http://portforward.com/cports.htm stats that port 28960 TCP and 20500,20510,28960 UDP for COD2 needs to be port forwarded.
Add those ports under firewall -> Nat ->Port forward

Thanks for your quick reply. Is it possible to port forward to 30 computers at one time. or do I have to port forward to each individual computers IP one by one??. I Have tried to port forward 25999 but PFsense only allowed me to put one Ip not a range of IPs. Is that correct??

Yes, that is indeed correct. It would be the same as with a street leading to many different lanes. You cannot forward the same car to all the lanes, right? My suggestion would be to forward a different port number (not range, the number should be sufficient for the moment) to each client.

With most games, you only need the port forward if you want to host a game rather than just join one so you shouldn't need the port forwarded unless you are going to host with one of them.

have you tried the static port option?
