Pfsense with USB Wireless Adapter in VMWare Enviroment
-
Possible?

If the adapter is supported by FreeBSD then yes it's possible. However, if you connect to a USB 1 port you'll be limited at a maximum of 12 Mb/s. VMWare probably has some overhead too, so whatever theoretical bandwidth you're expecting, you'll probably get less.

On Vmware Workstation and server it can work, just be sure that your Pfsense VM has "focus" when you put in your USB stick, so that Vmware knows to which VM it has to assign/bridge the USB device.
Also make sure that you do not install the device on the host. If the device is used on the host, it won't work on the VM.On Vmware ESX this can not work.

Just trying to see whether it works. What do u mean by "supported by FreeBSD then yes it's possible." I want this USB doggle to act like my wireless AP. Or can i hook up my trusty wrt54g to do the job? which is better?
