      Greetings,
I see that at one time, avitars were permitted/supported by the forum.
The option is still available in the porfile settings. But when I put the url
in, then click the personal picture radio I see it. Then I move to the URL
radio, and press save settings. But my picture vanishes. I've done it
over, and over, some 25 times. But still no picture. Anyone know when
      avitars will be permitted again?

      Thanks

      –Chuck

P.S. The "preview" button to preview a post prior to submitting it, only shows
an empty preview box. Just thought I'd mention it.

Do you really need that thing? I prefer writing about pfSense instead of getting disturbed by other people's blinking pictures.

It works for me (look left) but it does not save the avatar to the forum, it hotlinks it from the URL you enter. Just leave it set to "I have my own pic".

It's actually there, just displayed in white-on-white text. Not sure why…

Not that it's relevant exactly here, but I see this behaviour (white-on-white) when previewing a post.
Seems to be a CSS "inconsistency" somewhere…

Yea, I see yours (and others). I know it hotlinks, because I see the record in my server logs
during the preview. But that's the last time my server is ever queried for the image. Not that
big a deal. But combined with the "invisable" preview, I was wondering if maybe something
was wrong with the server. Since I'm pretty new here, I'd have no idea if this sort of thing
              was considered the "norm".

              Thanks. That's good to know.

Maybe its because the picture you are trying to use is too large! I think there is a size cap although not stated on this forum - just a thought.
