I would like the current squid package to be able to utilise multiwan gateways with some sort of hack either applied to pfsense base system or the squid package itself.

For the gui frontend gateway options, this can just be a drop down box or 2 checkboxes with 2 fields, "use multiwan" and "default (wan only) ".

As for the backend code, I have searched the forum and there seems to be a hack which I havent tried, here's the post for reference http://forum.pfsense.org/index.php/topic,7591.0.html.

      It is important that:

1: The fix is multi wan aware
2: The fix is failover aware
3: The fix does not break captive portal functionality (see this post http://forum.pfsense.org/index.php/topic,4815.0.html)
4: The fix works on pfsense 1.2.3

I am aware this is possible on pfsense 2.0, but 2.0 not up for release until at least end this year

Anyone needing this feature and willing to add to the bounty is welcome.

Is this something you have working on 1.2.x or did you go with 2.0?

Though that is on your taste.
