    Hi all,

Just came across an issue while I was experimenting with VLANs on my ALIX box…

I created 6 VLAN's, and assigned interfaces, then setup DHCP for some (not all) of them to test.

Then after testing (I found performance dropped significantly for some reason to arounf 14-15mbit/s, but that's probably because I was a dunce somewhere) I removed the interfaces from the assign interface screen.

After removing the 2nd interface, I got an error saying: "optxxxx cannot be duplicated on more than one line" (or something similar, this is from memory). In checking the config.xml the offending lines were to do with the DHCPd config - so when deleting an interface, it's probably best just to remove the entire optxxxx node rather than keeping the config data for disabled boxes on the DHCP forms should you add the interface again...

Should you try to reboot after this (like I did, doh!), then you'll need to get your null modem cable out...

Anyway, nothing amazingly serious, but I thought I'd share my sorry tale here in case this happens to some sorry bod administering a remote pfSense box on the other side of the world...

Hmm, this bug was supposed to have been fixed:
