Updating NanoBSD Embedded Version
-
hi guys
is it now possible to update an nanobsd (1GB) based pfsense 1.2.3m without reflashing? upload an update file or select the update source. on an earlier version, ive selected an other update source and just this selecting killed the system.
how is the handling with this slices? can i make a snapshot of the running system slice1 to slice2 and select on the boot wich to boot, in case of i killed slice1?

I am very interested as I have attempted an update on 1.2.3-RC1 embedded which broke the system. Through manually uploading the update file aswell as through automatic update.
I have tried this on the nanobsd snapshot and the result was the same. Automatic update downloads the firmware and then supposedly reboots but this takes ages. After the reboot completes the version is still the same.

You can't upgrade from the old embedded to nanobsd, it's a completely different filesystem setup, you must reflash. From there you can upgrade.
