    Hi,

Building a hotspot with captive portal, trying to deploy paypal as payment system but they change their ip all the time. Is it possible to allow traffic on captive portal based on url name and dns name insted of ip based.

    thanks

      No.
      Not in 1.2.x
I'm not sure what the status in 2.0_ALPHA_ALPHA is.

I'm not too sure for myself, since I'm not the main network guy where I work, but I have heard my boss mention dyndns.org a lot of times for sites that change their ip constantly. I think their service gives a static ip that connects you to the website you need. Not sure, but worth checking out. :)

          Dyndns is something entierly different.
It is used to update the name of your own dynamic WAN IP.

The problem with paypal is, that they notonly have a single server, but a farmand thus their DNS entry point to multiple IPs.
Thats why names are not supported, since it is currently not implemented to keep track of the changes in their DNS records.
