is there a way to have pf keep the logs longer than normal. I have a lot of disk space and would like it to keep more than the max of 2000. is there another way besides using syslog?

        Search the forum.
There have been a few discussions to run a logger locally .

Dunno where you were searching, then.  My suggestion (what I do): have pfsense send the logs to a remote syslog server, where you can retain them to your heart's content.

marcoof made some changes to store the logs on the hdd and send them per email:

But really: just set up a syslog server. It's easier :)

                but easier isn't better ! :-)

In my case i cannot have an external syslog server.
The logs stay on the firewall 1 year, and a backup is send by mail daily. It's regarding French law when we offer Wifi hotspot.
And I have write a windows software for create users for freeradius/ captive portal too.
                Work great !

                Best regards,
                MaRCoOf
