Well, it's up to RC3 now.  So much has changed since 1.2.2 that 1.2.3 hardly seems appropriate.  I hear that revision "1.3" is available again  ;D

1.3 sounds more appropriate. The release candidates have been really stable.

          ok

I have 1.2.3 RC1 right now but wondering if I should upgrade to RC3 or wait for the final 1.2.3 what do you think is rc3 stable at present and where do I download it?

As is the case with all releases, it will be released when its done.  There were a couple of major issues that have been holding up the release.  Hopefully those are resolved or will be shortly.

Nope.  FreeBSD 8.0 isn't released yet.

i haven't gotten my hands on 1.2.3 yet, waiting for things to get real stable. so far, i've read people complain about high cpu usage. has this been fixed yet?
some talk about issues with load balancing - tagging a pool up or down, something like that. has that been fixed too?

Captive portal was the last remaining major issue, it appears to be fixed now. One with wireless and bridging remains, which is an easy fix that will go in sometime this coming week after further evaluation. There will be a final RC after I get back from EuroBSDCon this coming week with release shortly after.

The load balancer flapping was fixed a while back. There never was an issue with high CPU usage aside from one person seeing a problem with polling that's outside of our control (not using polling fixes that).

You know that they don't give release dates, you know that 1.2.3 isn't out yet, and yet you're still asking the question?
