The company I work for owns an apartment building. They would like to offer free internet to their tenants. This may be wireless or wired or both.

I was planning on using PFsense with the Captive Portal option. Our Prop. MGR asked me if this would comply with CALEA. http://www.fcc.gov/calea/

Apparently this law also would apply to us.

      Has anyone came across this?

      Thank you

Try searching the forum and read the answers to the other threads ;)

In short, by itself it won't provide you with CALEA compliance but it also doesn't stop you achieving it.  You should talk to a lawyer about what you have to do, but it may be that simply providing a network tap is sufficient.
