Ppoe: Ok con XP, Ko con pfSense 1.2.3

Salve a tutti, sto tentando di configurare pfs 1.2.3 per l'uso del pppoe sulla porta wan collegata ad un Netgear DG834 in full bridged mode (LLC, 8, 35) isp Aruba (cioè Alice). Il problema sta nel fatto che anche se clicco sul bottone Connect di Status->Interfaces la connessione non viene stabilita.

Se collego un pc XP direttamente al DG834 e configuro una connessione di rete PPoE, tutto funziona regolarmente.
Qualche idea?
