Squid e password alfanumerica bypassa autenticazione internet

Ho installato e configurato il pacchetto squid versione 2.7.8_1 con accesso ad internet tramite autenticazione locale.
Ho poi creato gli utenti di prova e configurato il browser per utilizzare il proxy.
Gli utenti locali sono:
usr: test1
pwd: test01
e
user: test2
pwd: test02

Quando tento di accedere ad internet, mi viene richiesto di inserire le credenziali, e fin qui tutto funziona bene ,
ma il problema strano è che se come password di test1 oppure di test2 inserisco solo la parte composta dalle lettere , quindi "test"
mi fa accedere ugualmente ad internet. Come se non cosiderasse il resto della password oppure non facesse un controllo per intero.
Se invece come password inserisco solo le lettere o solo i numeri funziona bene, ma se la password è alfanumerica sembra avere qualche problema.
Ho provato a cercare nei forum ma nessun topic parla di questo strano "effetto". Oppure sbaglio qualcosa io ?

Facendo altri test , ho rilevato che il controllo della password avviene sui primi 9 caretteri , come se ci fosse un limite alla lunghezza della password .
Può essere ?!?!? ???

Ho fatto le mie prove ma non ho riscontrato alcun problema, sia che le password fossero corte o lunghe ed anche complesse ma non mi ha mai dato un problema. Su quale interfaccia attesti squid? Per caso hai abilitato il proxy trasparente?

Ciao Zanotti ,
ti posto tutte le configurazioni che ho fatto per il proxy. In sostanza blocco della porta 80 su lan. Attivazione squid su interfaccia LAN in modalità non trasparente, sulla porta 3128. Autenticazione locale.
Nota l'indirizzo ip che vedi su Unrestricted IP in Access Control , non è il pc da ho fatto i test. :D
Forse sbaglio io a impostare qualcosa oppure è il servizio squid che non ricarica bene la lista degli account , ma ho riprovato a creare un nuovo utente :
user: backtrack
pass: backtrack123
Provando ad accedere ad internet , se inserisco la pwd sino a "backtrack" riesco a navigare.
Ho pensato che sia la cache di i.e. e l'ho svuotata , ma nulla da fare.
PS: non ho mai riavviato pfsense dopo l'aggiunta dell'utente backtrack. Che sia il caso ?

io ho riprovato a rivedere la configurazione , ma mi da sempre lo stesso risultato.
Non è che per sbaglio ho le regole sulla LAN sbagliate?!?!?
Potete dirmi altri accorgimenti o verifiche da fare?
