      Hi, I have downloaded the VmWare appliance and installed it into a vmware esx 3.5. But during the boot of pfsense I've got the almost 10 time the message : "Trying to mount root from ufs:/dev/ad0s1a" and after i see this prompt :

      Any idea? Thanks for your answers!

        Go with the LiveCD installer instead. And just mount a dvd drive with the ISO image. No issues here…...

          Did you run the appliance through the VMWare Converter to make the ESXi version.  Just using the Virtual Disks, from a VMWare machine, in an ESXi one doesn't work.

              Don't forget to install the "Open-VM-Tools" package.
