Help-I'm missing something here-Gamers cannot see my steam based server & games
-
Hi,
I'm a recent IPCOP convert and I really need some help here. Let me summarize, what used to work when I was running IPCOP is not working under PFSENSE.The thing that I'm trying to do is host my son's Half-Life/Day of Defeat/CounterStrikeSource/etc games from within my network. This is something that I was able to accomplish via port forwarding under IPCOP, but when I started to look at the PFSense Forums about hosting steam games via SRCDS, I found out that I'm going to have a heck of a time…
Here's a snapshot of what my network looks like:

[pfsense 1.2.3-Release] ==== {10/100/1000 switch}–----\Day Of Defeat Host/
^^ This used to be an IPCOP hostMy internal network is set up as 10.10.10.0/24. My game sever has a static IP within the 10.10 range, so that I can port forward my "steam game server" outside of my LAN into the WAN.
Now since I've been following every piece of info about how to set up SRCDS on pfsense etc... I came way with, well, the damn stuff is not working for me. This means that games can be hosted & played withing the LAN, but others that use the steam network cannot view our games in the "master list of games."
Here's my pfsense configuration
1. System->Advanced-> Disable NAT Reflection. Checkbox is not checked (blank).
2. Interfaces->WAN-> FTP Helper. Checkbox is checked (check mark)
3. Interfaces->LAN-> FTP Helper. Checkbox is checked (check mark)
4 Firewall->Port Forward (open the portforward.png)
5. Firewall-> Rules-> WAN (open the fwall_rules_wan.png)
6. Firewall-> Rules-> LAN (open the fwall_ruls_lan.png)
7. Firewall->NAT->OUTBOUND-> "Manual Outbound NAT rule generation (Advanced Outbound NAT(AON)) ENABLED!!!
(open the fwall_nat_outbound.png)
Does this configuration make sense if I want to allow external access to a specific IP within my LAN on specific ports?
DO I have the correct configuration or am I missing something? Or is there a bug in pfsense 1.2.3-Release?I've checked high and low. Other people in this forum seem to have it working, but the details are sketchy…
Help, please.

Well. It looks like my settings are fine now.
Things are working.

what was the issue, for future reference. Can you post config screen shots (if different from attached)

I'm facing the same Issue (ppl can join via ip, but server never shows on masterlist) It used to work flawslessy with 1.2.2
I upgraded both hardware and pfsense and switched from ADSL to broadband. I tried almost everything including the hlds run command.. It would be awesome if you could let me know if you have done any changes…not matter how minor they are ???

Old thread I know, but wanted to clear a few things up (for future references).
Steam uses certain ports for their master list.
TCP: 27014-27050
UDP: 4380, 27000-27030I ran into this problem a long time ago when hosting a server from my house, but now that I don't really block many ports, I kind of forgot about it.
So this may or may not fix your problem.
