Hi,

I just want to know if it's scheduled to add OpenVPN Access Server to PfSense ? I think it'll be really usefull as it supports LDAP authentification and is really easy to use..

Access Server is a paid for, commercial, product. As such I would be very surprised if it was ever added to the base system.

That might become a package eventually, but it appears to require installing Java on the server end. That's quite a hefty requirement, and not one to be taken lightly for a firewall.

Hi, I am new at the forums so hello to every one, ;D

I have been using PFsense for couple of years and different scenarios, bit of headache at times but worth the pain ;), very good piece of software.

Now, about OpenVPN. I have used OpenVPN (Road Warriors, Site to Site, etc) It works well but some times gets difficult to get it running well.

Recently I started using OpenVPN Access Server, have to say that even if they charge 5$/user it is only for concurrent connexions so you may never have to buy a license, the give two free licenses at registration.

I have 2 OpenVPN Access Servers running, home behind a DD-WRT and work behind a PFSense 1.2.3 Ver. Have to say that in less than half hour I was testing the tunnels. Management and use is simple and users can download there own config or Installation executable files with user config file embedded, user cannot manipulate configs.

I think that what really be useful in PFSens is to add an option in the OpenVPN Client to import the Config file that OpenVPN Access Server creates for users conections.

This way you have the possibility of manging Site to Site OpenVPN in a very simple way.

I also have to say that I have been trying to config PFsense as client for my OpenVPN Access Servers but have not been able yet.

2.0 already has the equivalent of OpenVPN Access Server for free, and better in some ways.
