      Hello!

Until last week I had an old PC Engines WRAP board with a Wistron CM9 Wifi card running as Firewall and Access Point. Yesterday I replaced only the board with a new PC Engines ALIX 2D.13, everything else remained unchanged. Unfortunately now I have a problem with the signal strength which I did not have before (have a look at the screenshots below).

So my conclusion is that beside of the Wifi card and the OS also the mainboard plays an important role. Therefore I’m looking for a reliable substitute for the Wistron CM9 Wifi card. It should be a modern, maybe Atheros based, 802.11a/b/g/n card that works rock solid with pfSense 1.2.3 and the ALIX board. Any suggestions are much appreciated!

      Thanks a lot!

      Regards,

      Tom

I'm using mostly the wlm54g23 and wlm54sag23 (both atheros based).

If you're looking for N-hardware you're out of luck.
Afaik there is currently no driver support in FreeBSD 8.x

If you search the forum, then you'll find threads describing some N-cards which work, but only in g mode.
