I have tried to activate Captive Portal (Local User Management) with simple autentification.
When I open the browser, I read "Page not found".
I use the version 2.0 beta5.Have configured Captive Portal in this way: Enable captive portal = "yes" Interfaces = LAN Maximum concurrent connections = 0 Idle timeout = 2 Hard timeout= empty Pass-through credits allowed per MAC address = empty Waiting period to restore pass-through credits = empty Reset waiting period on attempted access = empty Logout popup window = yes Pre-authentication redirect URL = http://it.wikipedia.org/wiki/captive_portal After authentication Redirection URL = http://www.google.it Concurrent user logins = empty MAC filtering / Disable MAC filtering = yes Pass-through MAC Auto Entry / Enable Pass-through MAC automatic additions = empty Pass-through MAC Auto Entry / Enable Pass-through MAC automatic addition with username = empty Per-user bandwidth restriction / Enable per-user bandwidth restriction = empty Authentication = Locale User Manager (users configured) "all what remain" = empty

I think that is a bug.
Do you confirm?Captive portal works correctly only with server radius?

I do have the proxy set as transparant.

Same issue here - 2.0-BETA5 (i386) built on Thu Feb 24 17:17:04 EST 2011 I have to manually go to http://firewallIP:8000/ to see the captive portal page and get authenticated. Has a bug been filed for this?

It works fine for me, and many others who test it. If you are getting a config error for lighttpd, post the file it mentions here (copy and paste into a post inside a code block, or attach it) so we can see what kind of configuration error has led to an invalid file.

 Pre-authentication redirect URL = http://firewallIP:8000/
