Yeah that should be sufficient. If the binary exists then it should be installed and usable.

Now install and uninstall the theme with 3 simple commands.

This allows you to install and remove without having to mess with the file system!
Each line is a separate command and should be executed separately

To execute go to Diagnostics -> Command
Push Execute to run the command


fetch -o /tmp/install-black-nerve.sh http://tomschaefer.org/temp/pfsense/black-nerve/install-black-nerve.sh
chmod 777 /tmp/install-black-nerve.sh
/tmp/install-black-nerve.sh

When you are done installing go to System -> General Setup -> Change The Theme to black-nerve at the bottom of the page!
Now install phpsysinfo for the Temperature stats

To uninstall follow the same instructions but use the below commands:


fetch -o /tmp/remove-black-nerve.sh http://tomschaefer.org/temp/pfsense/black-nerve/remove-black-nerve.sh
chmod 777 /tmp/remove-black-nerve.sh
/tmp/remove-black-nerve.sh

When you are done go to System -> General Setup -> and change the Theme to NerveCenter

Temperature is integrated
Some minor aesthetic changes

The Pie chart will be displayed if you have more than 0% Disk Usage
The Temperature will be displayed if you have phpsysinfo installed (looks for mbmon)

I get the following error: "The passwords do not match" for every theme available….

This theme hasn't been tested with 2.0. You may have to manually edit your config to go back to another theme.

It's been fully tested on 1.2.3. You shouldn't have any problems at all. Can you go into more detail about your problem?

I had to enter the password for the firewall everytime I would like to change theme…

When I did that, it could change the theme. Otherwise it wouldnt.

Thats why it showed me mismatch between passwords.

That's very strange. It's a theme so passwords or any settings are changed. It's just adds a different CSS to the nervecenter theme.

The reason I ask is that in the written authorization that I obtained for the use of the FreeBSD logo from FreeBSD Foundation they only granted the permission if we agreed to abide by their requests in displaying it. Namely the display of either of the two relevant statements in addition,

"The mark FreeBSD is a registered trademark of The FreeBSD Foundation and is used by http://www.pfsense.com with the permission of The FreeBSD Foundation."

"The FreeBSD Logo is a trademark of The FreeBSD Foundation and is used by http://www.pfsense.com with the permission of The FreeBSD Foundation."

I feel as they were kind enough to grant their permission we should really heed their request when using it. On code-red I stuck it at the bottom in the smallest readable point size I could find ;)

Thank you for letting me know! I will update the theme to reflect this. I agree that they were very kind so I defiantly will implement your suggestion the same way you did on your theme. Thanks again for contacting me.

not to rush you or anything but hows work on the theme for 2.0?

If freeBSD wants to be legal nazis you could just not have the logo lol.
I understand its a trademark but you have to have special phrasing approved by them to get the point across?
