Create Nested Aliases?
-
I'm running 2.0 RC2.
I keep reading that i should be able to do this, but I don't see where/how. I can and have created Aliases, but for the life of me I can't seem to figure out how to Nest some of them.
Anyone? ???
-
just add an alias within another alias, they autocomplete
-
How?
If I create an Alias called "Alias_A" and ip 1.2.3.4. I can also create an Alias called "Alias_B" ip 1.2.3.5
So now I have 2 Alias and want to make a third one and add the others to it.
But when I create an Alias called "Alias_C" i can only choose: Host(s), Network(s), Port(s), URL, URL Table.
What am i missing?
-
choose the type of the other aliases. if A and B are host, C is host.
-
Does this mean you can't create an alias of mixed types?
-
No.
How would you want to use that? -
No.
How would you want to use that? That's actually what i was trying to do. Here's an Example:
I want to build a single Alias for group of services both by IP and Port. In this case, a Microsoft KMS Server.
I would like to create a Alias for the "KMS_Server_IP" and then another Alias for "KMS_Server_Ports". Then group the whole thing under an Alias called "KMS".
-
That would never work. An alias is only relevant for one specific type. If you used that alias as a source, you'd be trying to use both a hostname and a port for a source IP, which is invalid.

Ok thank you very much. I figured I might be wrong headed about this. It makes sense now. Thanks again. :D
