      Hello,

I am setting a pfsense 1.2 as wifi ap and router. Currently have an old 54m type of nic, but would like to install something new with 802.11n standard. So far have chosen the TP-Link TL-WN951N (Atheros, 3T3R, 2.4GHz, 802.11n Draft 2.0, 802.11g/b), but really dont know if pfsense supports it or has any issues? I googled a little on freebsd support for this nic and there are issues reported until version 8.2. However, I would appreciate if the Pfsense community can comment on the topic. Any suggestions for best PCI nic shall be cordially appreciated as well!
      Cheers.

AFAIK there is no 802.11n functionality on any NIC in pfsense, and freebsd is still experimental. I have a DWA-552 (atheros) and it only used G speeds between my phone on FreeBSD 9.0 Current updated to May patches. I believe they are working on it for Freebsd but it may take a while before that makes its way to pfsense.

FWIW the driver for my NIC does not work with WPA / WPA2 unless I have it on FreeBSD 9 and rebuild the kernel to the latest patches. Open and WEP encryption do work at b and possibly G speeds.
