I have a file containing IPs used in a round-robin dns alias.

Adding these IPs from the file to an alias via the URL option works wonderfully. How can I get pfSense to periodically rebuild the alias of IPs from this URL?

I've looked at /etc/rc.update_alias_url_data but the changes don't seem to be picked up.

      Any ideas?

      Cheers

When you create the alias by entering the URL, there is a drop-down for update frequency. No matter how many times you run /etc/rc.update_alias_url_data it won't update until that day counter is passed.

It's designed so that there can be a cron job that runs daily to update, and you can set the number to 7 and it will only update if the data file doesn't exist or the data file is older than 7 days.

          Ah!

I'd noticed that for "URL Tables" but for just "URL" the dropdown box is greyed out.

Ah, well the URL type isn't made to refresh that I'm aware of. I think it just imports once.

Actually the URL type is probably going away in favor of the URL Table type, not sure if that will happen before 2.0 drops or not though.

Thanks for the heads up, I'll stuck to URL Tables then.

              Cheers
