Ok now I do have a legitimate question that I don't believe I can answer myself. If we are using firewall schedules to disable access to the network during certain hours, can I do a redirect to an error page to tell the user that the network is "off" until normal business hours? Maybe I need to use proxy to handle this instead of the firewall? If that's the case though, what would you use the firewall schedules for? Only thing I can think of is opening up ports for specific windows for maybe backups or something… Any thought or suggestions?

You can create a rule before this one with inverted scheddule.
This rule Forward traffic to a squid transparet gateway with your error page.

Not too easy, but not impossible.

Thank you for the reply. I ended up figuring out how to use SquidGuard times in order to block internet usage after hours. For anyone out there wondering the same thing. Reference this thread:
