      Hello I have tried to use a Belkin Wireless G USB network adapter in my pfSense Virtual machine but it is not recognised as being a wireless device but a wired network card, is their anyway I can use my usb network adapter within a virtual machine environment ?

          How are you presenting the adapter to pfSense?  Sounds like you are just adding a NIC to your VM and mapping it to the same vSwitch as the USB adapter on the host.  If that is the case, that's exactly what should happen.  If you want to be able to configure the wireless NIC then you need to pass it directly through to the VM.
