I'm running 2.0-Release and want to get this chipset working to use as a wireless access point. Is there any way to get it working? I've been searching for hours with no solution.
I don't /need/ wireless N, upgrading to snapshots is acceptable if it can fix the driver/firmware.
Thanks in advance!

You might need to load the firmware for the chip.
Open up the shell and go to /boot/
If not created, create /boot/loader.conf.localInput this into the file:
runfw_load="YES"Reboot and you should have the firmware loaded at boot.
If you run pfsense on nanobsd, so you have a read only filesystem. You can run /etc/rc.conf_mount_rw to make the filesystem readwrite, then edit the file and then run /etc/rc.conf_mount_ro to make in read only again.

Is your WiFi card a PCI card or USB? sidde's advice is probably good for a USB device (I'm not familiar with the chipset), maybe not so good for a PCI card. Google suggests its probably a PCI card in which case sidde's advice doesn't apply.
What seems to be the problem?

It's a PCI card purchased from monoprice. The web configuration doesn't recognize it, and ifconfig doesn't show a wifi device.

It looks to e that you have an unsupported device. It might be supported in versions of FreeBSD after 8.1.
