Pfsense as AP and bridge to LAN
-
Hi I ve managed pfsense to be AP and wifi clients can access to LAN subnet, but traffic works only for few seconds and then stops. This is my settings:
-
What version of pfSense are you running?
What type of WiFi device are you using?
You probably should have the WLAN interface General Configuration Type set to None rather than DHCP because it is bridged to LAN and LAN usually has an IP address.

I am running pfsense 1.2.3 release and Canyon CN-WF511 with RT2561 chipset. I can’t setup WLAN interface General Configuration Type set to None cose there is only two options static and dynamic but I think that section doesn’t meter. If I tray to ping wifi host from lan host I get every 5th or so replay.
Is there any step by step guide how to setup this easy scenario?

Maybe I need to add virtual adapter and reconfigure the bridge to that virtual adpater (OPT1)?

Have you looked in the pfSense documentation collection: http://doc.pfsense.org

By virtual adapter do you mean the ability of some interfaces to act as multiple Access Points? If I recall correctly that feature was new in pfSense 2.0.
I suggest you upgrade to pfSense 2.0. I think it is unlikely you will be able to persuade a volunteer to make serious changes to pfSense 1.2.3 if they should prove to be necessary to address your issue. pfSense 2.0 has newer device drivers than pfSense 1.2.3 and it is POSSIBLE that will fix your issue.
