Creating a new user for webGUI
-
Hello,
How do I create a new user with specific privileges for the webGUI? I want a user who is only able to view status and not change any settings. I tried creating one in system > user manager, but when I log in as the new user, it just tells me "No page assigned to this user. Click here to log out"

After you created the user, you have to edit it and add the relevant pages to user privileges.
User privileges field is not shown in user creation page.Marco

I'm getting the same error. I created a user, then created a group added the user to the group and now gave that group certain permissions. However when the user logs in it give the error 'No page assigned to this user! Click here to logout. '
Any ideas?

Try deleting those permissions and re-adding them, putting the Dashboard permission first. I thought I fixed that to always be first a while back. Are you on 2.0.1?

I deleted all of the permissions from the group and then saved. I then added Dashboard All and Dashboard widgets and when logging in I got the same error.

does your group name really have a space in it? try making the group name only one word, no spaces, like "monitor" or "monitorusers" and re-add the users to the group to see if that fixes anything.

I deleted the old group, created a new one and assigned the following permissions (WebCfg - Dashboard (all), WebCfg - Dashboard widgets (direct access), WebCfg - Status: Traffic Graph page)
I then create a new user called Test and assigned it to the new group.
Still having the same issues.
-
Any other ideas?

Try a different name perhaps, maybe something in the name is causing an issue (I know there were issues with some users, especially if you named one 'help' for a while).
Maybe just "myuser" as an example.

Tried creating a new user, added it to the new group with a few permissions, but still getting this error.
No page assigned to this user! Click here to logout.
I also have an LDAP server setup to authenticate users for VPN, so I tried my domain login creds on the admin login page and received the same error as above even though Im not in any group on the User Manager Page.
Does the LDAP auth I have setup conflict with a local users rights?
