What are the 2 NICs physically connected to?

        Are their link lights lit?

In the advanced settings of the network interfaces, is Cable connected ticked or unticked?

        What version number of VirtualBox?

It takes 2 seconds to click Help -> About to get the version number. If you're serious about wanting help, try providing the information asked for…

If the interfaces are bridged and you haven't connected the network cables, how exactly do you expect this to work? You need to connect the interfaces to their relevant devices (switch, modem, whatever).

Ignore the fact that it is a virtual platform - wire it up just like you would for a real one. Connect the WAN port to the modem/router and the LAN port to the switch.
