      Never seen that error?  USB Nics?  USB Nic support is not the greatest in FreeBSD currently.

        It is a RT-2500 PCI card so I don't presum they have used a USB chip but u never know

          I would suggest trying a different NIC.

            That error suggests that the EEPROM could not be read, try to disable ACPI perhaps.
