      Hi,

Currently there is no support to configure a PPPoE connection to be on a vlan. Some providers such as Telefonica's fiber connection require a vlan setting. Their internet is on vlan X while their IPTV is on a different vlan. I would like to have a configuration option under the PPPoE config so that I can set a vlan.

This change (and I've read a few others requesting it) could/should be made part of pfSense so that others can take advantage of it in the future.

MPD5 (The software used for PPPoE connections) does support VLans as far as I know. This should be a simple GUI change I would think.

How much would you guys charge for this and/or does it exist in pfSense 2.0.3?

      Thanks,

Huh? I'm running PPPoE on a VLAN on bog standard pfSense 2.0.1. Something like:
        1. Go to Interfaces -> (assign) and click on the VLANs tab to create the VLAN,
        2. go to Interfaces -> (assign) and click on the "+" at the bottom right to add the VLAN to the pool of interfaces available to pfSense,
        3. go to Interfaces -> (assign) and click on the PPPs tab then click on the "+" to add a new PPPoE interface (if necessary) then configure it
        4. go to Interfaces -> (assign) to set the pfSense WAN interface to the newly configured PPPoE interface.

I use PPPoE via VLAN as well. It worked with 2.0.1, it still works with 2.0.2, I do not expect it to break in 2.0.3…

It's also a mission-critical feature not only for people whi suffer from ISP stupidity, but also for people who VLAN switches as "port extenders".
