Secure way to open DLNA for Mobile Device
-
Hi all,
I'm trying to figure out if there is a secure way to open a port forward for my cell phone to access a DLNA server inside my network. Obviously the IP of my phone changes regularly, so in an ideal world there would be some way for the cell phone to notify PFSense that the IP had changed, thus modifying the firewall rule.
Can anyone think of a pre-existing way to do this? I could likely accomplish it via shell scripts and some hackery, but didn't know if there were any pre-built methods. I'd also rather not open the network to the entire pool of my cell provider's IP.
Thanks,
Ben -
DLNA uses UPnP and as such is a broadcast protocol and not a routed one. The simplest option is probably a VPN.
