I'm trying to edit my message at: http://forum.pfsense.org/index.php/topic,61018.msg339645.html#msg339645 but the edit button is missing. I only get the quote button. On normal posts the edit button is there, therefore I'm thinking that it's something to do with the topic being a sticky.

Can you please check and correct it?

      Thank you.

There is a timeout to editing your own posts, sticky or not. Past a certain point it won't allow you to change the content of the posts in the thread unless you're a mod/admin.

Remember: Upvote with the 👍 button for any user/post you find to be helpful, informative, or deserving of recognition!

So it's either create a new post in the thread and let the users figure it out, or pm a mod with the changes and hope it will be updated?

I have to agree with this.
Not being to able to mark your own posts as solved must make it harder for others to search for solutions. The timeout is a relatively recent change too. Was there some reason for doing this that's not obvious to me?
I have seen some forums where a user has gone back and deleted all their posts for some reason which which is obviously unhelpful.

Edit: While I still can!  ;) I commented on this at the time of the change: http://forum.pfsense.org/index.php/topic,43637.0.html

I think that at least for the stickies it should be allowed to edit your posts. For my example, I have to message a mod, he has to find time to make the changes I tell him to, just to keep the sticky organized.
Imagine having me posting a new post every time I find a new snort false positive. The list (at least my offline list) updates at least once every week. having 52 posts just for a year in a sticky to keep track of a list is not something we all want.
