I've got OpenVPN setup on pfsense 2.0.3 and have downloaded the client exe package from my pfsense box.  I also downloaded the iOS config.  I can successfully connect to the OpenVPN server on both iOS and windows 8 but I get a route gateway unreachable on any network adapters in the logs so i can never access any network resources.  It does work on iOS.  I can access the internet and can access local web resources from my iPhone.  Anyone know what could be going on in the windows exe OpenVPN client?  Its running OpenVPN Manager 0.0.3.6, OpenVPN 2.3.2-1001, Tap-Windows 9.9.2.  Funny thing is it worked at one point.

Turns out if I don't use the OpenVPN Manager and just use the regular GUI it works. Not sure what is wrong with the manager especially when it says in the pfsense gui to use it for windows 7/8 so you don't have to run as admin.

Give us a network map and post your server1.conf.

Another awesome "Feature" of windows 8…  haha.

                This will probably help.

                  Thanks! kejianshi

I tried adding those commands to the end of the opvn file and it seemed to work for a little bit but I figured I would give it more testing by disconnecting/reconnecting and opening/closing the app and reconnecting again.  It seemed to fail once more after a couple of times of doing that until i rebooted and now its ok again.  Seems kind of flaky but Ill keep an eye on it.

Should I add those commands to the additional configuration options in the client export option on PFSense?  If I do hopefully It will not negatively effect my mobile clients ability to connect.

I can't really test it here, because I don't run windows 8 anywhere.  The advice I gave was based purely on having observed others like you have similar problems and knowing (sort of) what they had to do to resolve it.  If you find a best fix, maybe you can post?

Yeah - Does Win7 sell an upgrade pack to upgrade from Win8 up to Win7?  I'm pretty sure lots would buy it. ;)

Yeah I would, except that I actually like windows 8.  :P  I don't use the metro apps all that much so I don't notice it but I do like a bunch of other new features.  Ill be going to 8.1 shortly.

Actually it's included with Pro and Enterprise. Just not the media, but many resellers already sell laptops preupgraded to W7 with W8 license.  ;D :D
