Assigning new interfaces

While trying to set up access to my ADSL modem I happened to read these:

They both instruct the reader to assign a new interface by clicking the '+' sign on the page Interfaces -> (assign). There's no plus sign though, so what's going on? Did this change in 2.1?

Mine has a "+" sign:

The + will only show up if there are actually interfaces to assign.
Since it does not, i suppose the interface on which the ADSL modem is connected is already assigned.
