Looking at https://redmine.pfsense.org/projects/pfsense/roadmap#2.1.1 2.1.1 should be ready for release within a week of so. Better submit any bugs you have found quickly if you want them fixed on this release.

Report your bugs guys, this is your last chance…... if not, its about to be released and it will be a LONG time before 2.2 is released.

If by "long" you mean 2-3 months.

We are purposefully keeping the scope of 2.2 very limited. Lots of things tagged for 2.2 will probably be pushed to 2.3 and later, as we really need to get out a FreeBSD 10.x-based release very soon.

I was thinking at less 12 to 18 months before 2.2 would be ready. If in 3 months, that would be a rather quick turnover.

I would love to see the coders/contributors really comb through the code debugging and optimizing the existing Pfsense code to make 2.2 a more solid foundation going forward. I would think going that route would take some time.

There is a difference between "love to see" and "need to have" :-)
