User Management: LDAP login fails when password contains special characters

Hi,
my non anonymous user fails to login when setting setup to authenticate users against an active directory, as long as the password of the user contains a special character like "#".
Changing the password to one without the "#", login succeeds.Is this a feature?

Check the box to UTF-8 encode the LDAP info and it may work.

No, didn't help.
What helped, was rebooting the pfSense.
Strange solution.
