      Hi all!
      I need to know if is a good job using vmxnet3 on pfsense.
      I use trafich shaping and aroud 20 vlan (i have various customer on my building).

      How about it?

        I seem to recall that the vmxnet3 driver is not compatible with the ALTQ shaper (wizard) but should work with limiters.

          But, sorry jimp, what does means this "ALTQ shaper (wizard)? So i will not able to run Wizard?

          I am not very pratic on pfsense trafic shaper, but i need it!

          and.....vmxnet2?? is a possible solution?

            ALTQ is the basis for the traffic shaper, so if you need shaping then VMXNET3 is out for you.  I've had problems in the past with VMWare's virtualized NICs, so I tend to stick with the good old E1000.

              But if i use E1000 adapter i have some problem when i use it together the limiter.
              It increase the duration of the ping  ???

                i add a rule:  source LAN net destination LAN net pass

                  Yeah I don't think so - when would that rule even be used.  Why would clients talk to their gateway to talk to devices on their own segment?  That rule would never see any packets.
