2.1.5 Nav bar messed up

I didn't need to try it myself, but others apparently did.
Mileage may vary according to who is between the seat and keyboard. -
In short it seems like Verdana is the culprit and changing the font to Tahoma seems to work for most people

Yeah - I'd bet just about anything that in a few days the font will get changed to something that is universally supported in pfsense and a minor update will become available. So I don't know how important it is to make changes to browsers to accommodate this is.

Same Probleme here with IE11 and Windows 7 (don't say use Firefox). With Firefox it is working.

If the bug didn't get me furious, the f****** captcha s**** did so by moving all of my message to /dev/null.
Back to the bug:
I have to endure this on Firefox/Ubuntu 14.04. Things worked fine until 2.1.5 introduced the "Gold" button.
For me, not being able to acccess the main menu is a major pain in the backside. It is a major usabilty screw-up.
not being able to access some of the most important menu items like the "general" page, routing, dns settings etc. breaks the system to me.Please get it fixed asap.
To add to it: I do understand you need to make a living as developers. As developers, you need to understand, that the way you have chosen will liekely not generate the extra income you would have liked to generate through that "Gold" button.
Outright rejecting the bug and shoving it to the linux users is just appalling. 1 The whole system is based on FOSS, and then you have the chuzpe to tell people to sod off with their ubuntu, and use some commercial software? If you were clever about it, you'd rake the cash in, instead of telling the community to go and buy windows and give the money to microsoft instead.
SO, please also fix the trust issue you just generated. If you think that you need to keep that kind of community relationship, you'll have part of us off to red'n green interface or some other fast. Certainly, that's not the way to make money, folks.

sudo apt-get install ttf-mscorefonts-installer : Tahoma is not being installed.
if you google a little more, you will find that M$ did not release Tahoma as a freely available font. Requiring paid-for closed source fonts on an open-source community circled web-ui driven software is kind of - eh, well.
And yes, i cleared cache in firefox. I tried the crtl-+ as well, but to no avail. As soon as you hover over the System menu item, the system menu pops up. However, as you try to move down, you have to cross the help menu item that's gotten positioned right under the system menu. Boom, you get the Help Menu.
So you cannot access tha System Menu.

So, you get the security advisory to install 2.1.5, but from a usability standpoint, please don't. DO NOT update systems you can not reach physically, or you have not enabled other way of accessing the console otherwise. You might get screwed out of using the system menu.

That last part "Don't update systems you can't reach physically" is probably good advice at every upgrade. Its probably best to wait a week to see how many problems others have and then update if it doesn't seem too risky and things are going well for most people.

Yep I also tried reinstalling the ttf-mscorefonts-installer package. Didn't work. I didn't realize Tahoma isn't included in that. I'm surprised they would do something like this considering how web development these days is more highly focused on cross-platform compatibility.

for me, purging the corefonts did the trick
alternatively, you can access the mobile gui by faking device type (there's a plugin for that somewhere) or by viewing the page in "no stylesheet" or by manually typing the urls. you can find them in the other thread:

Apparently, the layout itself is the source of all evil, (fixed width just breaks when the "wrong" font is used, some of the need just a tad less or more width, mostly verdana is the culprit.)

Changing things on the browser is not a good solution.
The problem exists on Windows 7, Mac OS, and Ubuntu 12.04 and 14.04.
I have 9 pfSens boxes in 5 different countries.
How many PCs do I have to change?Why not put the gold link somewhere in the help dropdown?

Quick Solution to Nar bar messed up
Steps:
1 Highlight "System".
2 Press "Tab" key on your keyboard (System menu shall be underlined).
3 Continue to press the "Tab" key to scroll through the "System" menu.
4 With the desired item selected press "Enter" on the keyboard.

I'm having this problem on Firefox running under Ubuntu; using the developer tools to widen the #navigation div (all.css:406) from 750 px to 756 px allows the Help menu to go back up top. While I can manually fix the CSS myself, would it be very difficult to simply widen the bar to 775 px or so in order to provide a safety margin in case the sans serif it defaults to is a bit wider than the norm? #header-right .container .right #hostname would have to have it's left and width properties updated, and maybe have the background images stretched as well, and the whole kit would still fit on a browser window as wide as it does now.

I can't believe people are still struggling with this when it's been answered already in 3-4 different forums over the past few weeks.
Either reduce your font in your web browser or install the widescreen patch.

hahaha had this one today, so i did the following:
typed https://this.is.my.wall:443/system.php and changed theme to nervecenter.
