Mifi Build

I settled on a box that works with no hardware modifications at all. Advantech ARK-1388. Comes with both an Atheros wifi card and Sierra MC7700 cell modem. Just add pfMiFi compact flash and reboot!!!! These actually shipped with 16GB compact flash with Fedora custom boot to app called TeleGIS. Not even wiped.
I bought all i could find off ebay. These were out of ATT fleet truck lease as well -just like the Nexcom. About $80-$100 each for the three i bought. Super neat. Hard to mod as so compact. I added more antenna/rp-sma pigtails as they had mimimal.

The specs on Advantech website are different for these as well. These must have been version 2 and undocumented. It has 2 mini-pci-e and a sim slot and Ublox gps module. Maybe a custom build version for ATT….
