Squid3 /var/squid/logs/cache.log

Hi there,

Kindly delete this thread if this is already discussed.

Just want to ask about my "/var/squid/logs/cache.log" is taking time before it increased its size.

I am using Squid for almost 6mons and just found out that /var/squid/logs/access.log has logging for every 24hours and /var/squid/logs/cache.log have only a progress for like 2 to 4 four times a month. Though it has a rotation of 7 but the dates and time interval is not in sequence.

Is this normal..??

I already deleted and re-installed the package without the squidguard. and still getting the "cache.log" taking time to increase..

Cache.log just holds some status information for the Squid service.  There usually isn't much of interest in there unless your Squid is misbehaving.  Access.log is where all the real action happens.
