PPPoE Passwords …
-
I have been running pFSense for some time and recently was forced to replace hardware, we have two incoming PPPoE connections, each from a different provider.
The problem is that I can't remember the passwords required by each PPPoE account, they are hashed in the backup XML, the only way I can get the connections back up is to copy the hash's into a new XML. A restoration of the pFSense from a backup failed because of inconsistencies between hardware and other 'inconsistent' changes that FreeBSD chose to do - different hardware names etc etc.
I'd like to know what the passwords are - I know what they should be but if I enter them 'as they should be' the connections do not work.
Before anyone says that PPPoE connections don't need passwords I can assure you that ours do, if the hashes aren't correct the links don't come up - so the passwords clearly matter.
Is there any way to 'reveal' what the passwords are ???
