Sorry if this has been answered, tried googling and searching but no luck.

So I installed pfSense with Squid3 & Snort on my Dell T410

After install, I struggled trying to figure out whats wrong, only to find out that ESXi is on the same nic as pfSense's WAN, once switched within ESXi, i lose my WAN nic via ESXi > network adapters.

Everything is up and running but I cannot for the life of me connect to ESXi via vSphere client.

      any help will be appreciated.

      Specs:
      8gb ram
      100gb/16gb swap
      4 cores.
      dual nics
      SSD for Host Swap

So your pfsense is running as vm on esxi?

Where is your vmkern port group?  What physical nic is connected too?  This should be on your lan nic or on its own nic.  Can you post screenshot of esxi vswitch setup.

figured it out.. So I had to manually create a VMKernel on VMnic1 via vSphere and enable Management Traffic, delete the original on VMnic0 and adjust the network adapter in esxi, restarted and poof.

          thanks anyway tho!

Yeah kind of hard to get to esxi via vmkern if vmkern is not connected to your network ;)
