      Hi,

I'm trying to set up a wireless access point on pfsense. Is it compatible with the Netgear WNA1100? It uses the Atheros AR9002U chipset according to http://wikidevi.com/wiki/Netgear_WNA1100.

I plugged it into the USB port of the router but can't seem to assign the interface in the wireless area.

      Any help would be appreciated

If I recall correctly, the only USB devices on which Access Point mode is supported are those with either Ralink RT3070 chipset or Ralink RT2571 chipset. RT2571 devices seem to have gone "end of life" some years ago. When I last looked (a few months ago) there were a number of eBay suppliers offering devices based on the RT3070 (search for RT3070). A search of this forum will probably turn up other suppliers.
